Internship Policy

1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish a structured framework for the CosmicCues Internship Program. It aims to provide a valuable, hands-on learning experience for students and recent graduates ("Interns") while allowing the Company to benefit from fresh perspectives and potential future talent. This policy clarifies the terms, expectations, and nature of the internship engagement.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all individuals accepted into the CosmicCues Internship Program.
3. Definition and Nature of Internship
An internship at CosmicCues is a temporary, educational work engagement. It is crucial to understand that:
An internship is not an offer of employment.
Interns are not employees of the Company and are not entitled to employee benefits such as Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, or benefits under the employee Leave Policy.
The primary focus is on learning, skill development, and practical training.
4. Internship Agreement
Before commencing the internship, every intern must sign a formal Internship Agreement. This agreement will outline the specific terms of their engagement, including start and end dates, learning objectives, mentor details, stipend, working hours, and clauses on Confidentiality and Intellectual Property (IP).
5. Duration and Working Hours
Duration: Internships typically range from two (2) to six (6) months, as specified in the Internship Agreement.
Working Hours: Interns are expected to adhere to the Company's standard working hours. The total work hours will comply with the norms of the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1961.
Compliance for Young Persons: Furthermore, for any intern who is classified as a 'young person' under the Act (i.e., has completed their fourteenth year but not their eighteenth year), working hours and conditions will strictly adhere to all specific limitations and prohibitions prescribed for young persons, including the prohibition on night work.
6. Stipend and Expenses
Stipend: Interns will receive a fixed monthly stipend, as detailed in their Internship Agreement. The stipend is a token of appreciation for their contribution and is not a salary.
Expenses: The Company will reimburse pre-approved, out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the intern for official work, upon submission of valid receipts.
7. Leave
Interns are entitled to one (1) day of paid leave for each completed month of their internship. Any additional leave required for examinations or emergencies must be approved by their Mentor/Manager.
8. Conduct and Company Policies
Interns are required to adhere to all core company policies, especially the Code of Conduct, Data Protection and Privacy Policy, and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Policy.
9. Confidentiality and Intellectual Property (IP)
Confidentiality: Interns are strictly prohibited from disclosing or using any confidential company information for any purpose other than their assigned tasks, both during and after the internship.
Intellectual Property: All work, code, designs, documents, ideas, and any other intellectual property created by the intern during their engagement with the Company shall be the sole and exclusive property of CosmicCues.
10. Performance Feedback and Completion
Mentorship: Each intern will be assigned a Mentor/Manager responsible for providing guidance and regular feedback.
Completion Certificate: A certificate of completion will be awarded to interns who successfully complete their full term.
11. No Guarantee of Employment
Participation in the CosmicCues Internship Program does not imply or guarantee an offer of future employment.
12. Early Termination of Internship
The internship can be terminated early by either the Company (for misconduct or poor performance) or the Intern (for personal reasons) by providing a notice period of seven (7) days, unless specified otherwise in the Internship Agreement.
13. Policy Review
CosmicCues reserves the right to amend or withdraw this policy at any time.
